The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club sadly must announce the sudden passing of one its members, Paula Smart. Paula passed away on June 12, 2009, following a brief illness. In her years as a competitive adult figure skater, Paula amassed an enviable competitive record at Adult Nationals and other figure skating competitions in the United States, Canada and around the world. Paula was also a former Chair of the Adult Figure Skating Committee for US Figure Skating, was a member if the ISU Working Group for the ISU Adult International Figure Skating Competitions held in Oberstdorf, Germany, and also served as a member of the Board of the Los Angeles Figure Skating Club for a number of years.
