July Test Sessions (7/9/2010)

Attention Skaters: Due to the number of test requests received, all of the Wednesday night Club sessions at Pickwick starting with July 21st and continuing through August 25th will be used for test sessions. There will be no freestyles available at any of these sessions.

Club Jacket Contest (7/9/2010)

We are proud to announce a contest to design this year's 2011 LAFSC Qualifying Competitors Jacket. This contest is open to all current LAFSC Home Club Members. The winning design will be utilized for this year's qualifying competitors jacket, and the winning designer will receive special recognition and a special gift at our Annual Regionals/Sectionals Competitors Send Off Party.

Deadline for entries is August 6, 2010.

Please download the attached template and note the suggested guidelines for your design. Use this template to design your submission then scan and submit your final design to LAFSCTEAMJACKET@aol.com. Be sure to write your name on your design!

Guidelines For Designing the 2011 LAFSC Competitors Jacket:

Black or Royal Blue should be used for the main colors of the jacket. Gold can and should be used as an accent color. The trim on the collar can be either black, royal blue or gold. Zippers can be black or royal blue.
Please try and keep the design simply and sporty. Make it simple and something you and your fellow club mates will be proud to wear.
The LAFSC on the back is in gold only. The club logo, the skater's first name and Competition Team 2011 will be embroidered on the front upper left hand side of the jacket.

COACHES AND SKATERS PLEASE NOTE:

According to the 2010 Governing Council report of action, the new requirements for well-balanced programs for the Juvenile, Open Juvenile and Intermediate levels will take effect June 1. Therefore, at the 2010 Los Angeles Open Championships, programs for these levels will be judged according to these new standards.

LAFSC is proud to have 3 of its skaters named to team envelopes for the 2010-2011
season:

Keauna McLaughlin (w/Rockne Brubaker): Team A, Tier Two
Austin Kanallakan: Team C, Tier One
Katarina Kulgeyko: Team C, Tier Two

The envelope level is primarily determined by an ahlete’s performance in international
and U.S. Figure Skating competitions during the previous season and is used to determine
funding levels.
