STILLWELL TROPHY WINNERS 2026

CONGRATULATIONS TO MIU!

The Stillwell Trophy: Honors Morry and Elda Stillwell. Morry, former president of US Figure Skating, has contributed over 70 years to the sport and Elda, behind the scenes in accounting, has contributed over 30+ years. Morry and Elda have shown all of us what it means to have passion for what we choose to do. Skating is not about an element or even a competition, it is about passion and drive to be the best you can be, and to always enjoy what you are doing.

The perpetual trophy is awarded to two skaters for the most inspirational performances in a freeskate, dance or showcase event at the Adult Mid-Winter Warmup. One winner will be chosen from levels No Test to Adult Bronze and another from levels Adult Silver to Masters Junior/Senior. The trophy will be presented at the close of the competition and winner selected by the Adult Mid-Winter officials. The perpetual trophy will remain with the LAFSC with the skaters’ names engraved on it and an individual trophy will be awarded to the winners.

IN REMEMBRANCE OF JACK CURTIS

Jack served as our club president several times, as club treasurer, a National Judge and Referee in several disciplines and USFS treasurer. He, Morry Stillwell, and Ken Taylor initiated the concept of Showcase and started the then innovative concept of a theatrical skating competition. The results of that experiment speak for themselves with the immensely successful National Showcase competition. Jack was very active and influential for many years. He was always a staple at Governing Council and was an advocate of making sure the sport advanced in a positive way. He was one of a kind and the club was fortunate to have him lead us. May Jack rest in peace.

2024 Stillwell Trophy Award Winners

The Stillwell Trophy, a perpetual trophy, is awarded to two skaters for the most inspirational performances in a freeskate, dance, or showcase event at the Stillwell Adult Mid-Winter Warmup. One winner will be chosen from levels No Test to Adult Bronze and another from levels Adult Silver to Masters Junior/Senior. The trophy will be presented at the close of the competition and winners selected by the Adult Mid-Winter officials. The perpetual trophy will remain with the LAFSC with the skaters’ names engraved on it and an individual trophy will be awarded to the winners.

This prestigious trophy honors Morry and Elda Stillwell. Morry, former president of US Figure Skating, contributed over 70 years to the sport before his passing, and Elda, behind the scenes in accounting, has contributed over 25 years. Morry and Elda have shown all of us what it means to have passion for what we choose to do. Skating is not about an element or even a competition, it is about passion and drive to be the best you can, and to always enjoy what you are doing.

Todd Sand, a long time and life member of LAFSC, is a three time Olympian and father of two with his beloved wife, Jenni Meno. Todd suffered a devastating heart attack in Calgary, Canada while coaching his skating team during the Junior World Championships. Complications from the tragic heart attack occurred on March 2, 2023, which has resulted in Todd currently fighting for his life in the ICU in Canada.

A fundraising page has been created for Todd and his family to help support them with the enormous expenses associated with his medical care and recovery.

If you have ever met Todd, you know that he is a very special person that this world is in desperate need of keeping. His light always shines positivity and love. We want to do everything we can to help Todd's family in his fight for life.

LA AUTUMN CLASSIC - OCTOBER 5-8, 2022

TOYOTA SPORTS PERFORMANCE CENTER

News Alert! NEW NQS EVENT! LA AUTUMN CLASSIC.

LAFSC is pleased to announce that our new competition, the LA Autumn Classic, being held at the Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, CA October 5-8, 2023, has been designated as a NQS event. We plan to invite international and ISU officials. Please come out and join us to participate in this very exciting new competition!

We will also hold our longtime competition, the Los Angeles Open, from July 14-16, 2023 at JV Pickwick Ice in Burbank, CA.

Over 1,500 skaters nationwide will compete at nineteen 2023-24 qualifying events for a chance to advance to Sectional Singles, U.S. Pairs and U.S. Ice Dance Finals in November 2023. Athletes can then qualify to compete at the 2024 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships and National Development Camp in Columbus, Ohio, slated for January 2024.

Registration for the 2023-24 National Qualifying Series will open in May. More information can be found here:

Congratulations to the winners of two perpetual trophies at the competition this year:

Koko Hirano who won the Virginia Fratianne Trophy for the most artistic performance of the competition. The trophy is given in honor of Virginia, mother of Linda Fratianne (World champion, two-time Olympic team member and life member) who served the club as President in 1988-1989. Virginia was the test chair for the Club for years, earned her sectional competition judging appointment, and was always a wonderful volunteer and supporter of the Club.

Avery O'Brien who won the Van Valkenburg Trophy for the most outstanding overall performance for the competition. This trophy honors the Van Valkenburg family, all of whom played an important role in the Club. Florence was the Club's test chair for many years. Her husband John was a terrific volunteer for the Club. Their son, Robert was a competitor who first started skating as therapy for his severe orthopedic medical issues. To everyone's surprise and delight, Robert overcame those medical issues to become a formidable singles competitor. After John passed away, this memorial trophy in the family's honor was created.

Congratulations to the 2022 Stillwell Trophy Recipients!

The Stillwell Trophy, a perpetual trophy is awarded to two skaters for the most inspirational performances in a freeskate, dance or showcase event at the Adult Mid-Winter Warmup. One winner will be chosen from levels No Test to Adult Bronze and another from levels Adult Silver to Masters Junior/Senior.

The trophy will be presented at the close of the competition and winners selected by the Adult Mid-Winter officials. The perpetual trophy will remain with the LAFSC with the skaters’ names engraved on it and an individual trophy will be awarded to the winners.

Congratulations to Marco Pizzo and Marsha Stout on your achievements this past weekend!

Junior Council College Admissions Webinar

The LAFSC Junior Council will sponsor a webinar featuring Professor Man He from Williams College in Williamtown, Massachusetts, on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm. During the webinar, she will discuss incorporating your skating experience into your college applications and how to use it to stand-out in front of college admissions. Even if you are not a high school senior, this webinar will offer some helpful information and insight. After the webinar, we will play an online game. The winner will receive a prize (to be determined later).

Announcing the 2022 Virtual Cyber Challenge Cup!

We are writing to let you know that U.S. Figure Skating’s High School Programs Committee is offering the 2022 Virtual Cyber Challenge Cup for high school skaters!

The goal for this virtual opportunity is to allow skaters across the country to experience the fun and camaraderie of high school skating. High school teams can be made up of as few as 2 skaters; for this virtual experience, teams may have up to 9 skaters.

Congratulations to the recipient of the Virginia Fratianne Trophy - Jacqueline Nieto.

This trophy honors the Van Valkenburg family, all of whom played an important role in the Club. Florence was the Club's test chair for many years. Her husband John was a terrific volunteer for the Club. Their son, Robert was a competitor who first started skating as therapy for his severe orthopedic medical issues. To everyone's surprise and delight, Robert overcame those medical issues to become a formidable singles competitor. After John passed away, this memorial trophy in the family's honor was created. It is awarded to the most outstanding overall performance for the competition.

U.S. Figure Skating is asking all clubs to have parents/permanent legal guardians of minor athletes log into their minor athlete’s Members Only account to update the skater’s profile with a parent/permanent legal guardian name and contact information. This information will assist U.S. Figure Skating and clubs with quickly locating parent/permanent legal guardian contact information in an emergency.

In addition, this information will be utilized in instances where a parent/permanent legal guardian needs to be contacted about reported SafeSport issues.

RE: Safe Sport Policy - Virtual Coaching

We hope you are all staying safe and healthy. It’s been difficult not seeing all of you in person, but we are hopeful that things will get back to normal very soon!

Until things do return to normal, we know that many of you have made use of technology to stay in touch with your students. In order to get the most out of your virtual sessions, please take note of the U.S. Figure Skating/SafeSport policy for virtual instruction. The two-deep leadership policy (see below), with regards to contact with minor students, also applies to virtual sessions. If you are using virtual tools to have phone or video sessions with minors, you should have another adult attend these sessions. It can be a parent, another coach, adult skater, etc. as long as the other person is an adult.

From the SafeSport Handbook

PART 1: TWO-DEEP LEADERSHIP

Two-Deep Leadership is one of the cornerstones of U.S. Figure Skating’s Athlete Protection Policies. Two-Deep Leadership is a mandatory policy that requires at least one other person, preferably an Adult, be present at all times with an Adult Participant and a Minor Athlete when the interaction between the Adult Participant and Minor Athlete is not within a public viewing area where interactions can be easily observed and at an interruptible distance from another Adult (i.e., “rule of 3”). Two-Deep Leadership helps prevent emotional and physical abuse by making it difficult for an Adult to isolate a Minor Athlete and avoid detection. For example, Two-Deep Leadership requirements are met when there is a Minor Athlete and at least two Participants or when there is a Minor Athlete and one Participant and at least one other Adult. Two-Deep Leadership is a policy that is intended to limit one-on-one interactions not only to help with the protection of Minor Athletes but also to help protect Adult Participants from false or unsubstantiated accusations.

In Loving Memory of Morry Stillwell

In Loving Memory: Morry Stillwell (11/17/27 - 12/25/20)

We are enormously sad to announce that our dear friend, Morry Stillwell, passed away on December 25, 2020.

We send our love, support and condolences to Morry’s wife, Elda, and their family. With Morry’s passing we lose an icon, a dear friend and unceasing advocate for our sport, and a stellar supporter of our club.

Morry served the sport for many years as an official, as President of both our club and of U.S. Figure Skating, was involved in negotiating the very significant and beneficial television contracts for U.S. Figure Skating in the 1990’s, participated in the creation of the Grand Prix Series, and was instrumental in creating both the LAFSC Showcase For Skaters and the National Showcase competitions, amongst myriad contributions to our sport.

May you rest in peace Morry. Thank you for all you did for us. We’ll miss you. Terribly.

The LAFSC Junior Council is sponsoring a fun logo design contest to be used on some new merchandise items (to be determined).

To begin, we would like to gauge interest from the membership to see 1) who would be interested in participating in the contest and 2) who would be interested in purchasing items with the winning design. IMPORTANT SERIES INFORMATION FOR SKATERS.

Juniors & Seniors U.S. Championship Virtual Series

As you are aware, U.S. Figure Skating recently announced that the 2021 U.S. Championship Series in person events have pivoted to a virtual format. All Junior and Senior participating athletes are eligible to participate in the 2021 U.S. Championship Virtual Series.

The DEADLINE is NOV. 20 at 11:59 pm ET

NO late entries will be accepted!

Junior/Senior - virtual registration is now open via EMS on the Members Only page of U.S. Figure Skating to eligible athletes. Click here for details.

Note: senior athletes with existing byes to the U.S. Championships AND all registered SENIOR ICE DANCE TEAMS DO NOT register for the virtual series, the Event's Department will contact you directly with next steps. There are NO Junior byes this season.

EVENTS TO BE SKATED The following events will be skated: junior men, junior ladies, junior pairs, junior ice dance, senior men, senior ladies, senior pairs. Senior ice dance will not compete as all registered teams in the country have already advanced.

In the case of pairs and dance teams, only one athlete (female) needs to register for the team. Registration will open Nov. 13 and close Nov. 20. No late entries will be accepted under any circumstance.

LAFSC Club Ice Update

The Skating Edge Ice Arena will resume LAFSC CLUB ICE. The NEW time will be 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm.

$18 LAFSC Home Club members

$20 LAFSC 2nd Club members

20 skaters maximum allowed on the ice. Coaches must be LAFSC members in order to teach on LAFSC club sessions.

Please be mindful of Skating Edge’s Best Practices and Protocols:

Per state and local regulations, everyone entering the facility, and while in the facility, including on the ice, MUST BE WEARING A FACE COVERING. Before entering you must also have your temperature taken (it must be under 100.4 degrees fahrenheit) and sign in. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 type symptoms you will not be admitted into the building.

Skaters MUST put on their skates outside, NO BAGS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. Skaters must also warm up outside, and will only be allowed into the building 15 minutes before their session. Only one parent or guardian per COACH may be inside the building. Skaters should leave immediately following their session - no loitering.

The 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championship Series presented by Toyota, is a series of eight competitions that will take place over a four-week period beginning Nov. 10, 2020. The Championship Series has been created to replace the traditional U.S. Qualifying Season competitions (Challenges and Finals) for the 2020-21 figure skating season due to the impact of COVID-19. The Championship Series format, which has been approved by the U.S. Figure Skating Board of Directors, was conceived as a result of athlete, coach, and parent/guardian or chaperone feedback, as well as input from the U.S. Figure Skating Competitions Committee and discipline skating committees.

The delayed start of the U.S. Qualifying Season, originally scheduled to begin on Sept. 29, will allow athletes the necessary time to train so they are ready to compete with proper preparation. As it has done throughout the planning process for the Championship Series, U.S. Figure Skating will continue to assess the viability of this plan based on state and local regulations to ensure the health and well-being for all participants.

Explanation of the Series

The 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championship Series presented by Toyota is scheduled to take place from Nov. 10 – Dec. 6 in eight geographically diverse locations permitting athletes to compete at up to two competitions in the location of their choice. Similar to the U.S. Figure Skating National Qualifying Series (NQS), results from Championship Series events will be uploaded to U.S. Figure Skating’s Event Management System (EMS) following each event and sectional and national rankings will be available for participants. Advancement to the 2021 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, and assignment to the 2021 National High Performance Development Team, will be based on each skaters’ highest score earned rather than placement at each competition. Prior to Aug. 17, U.S. Figure Skating will publish a comprehensive Championship Series Athlete and Coach Handbook with a full outline of the Championship Series and technical information. Informational webinars to review the Handbook and address questions will also be held.

Registration Timeline

Athletes will be allowed to enter a maximum of two of the eight competitions being offered. The EMS-based registration process will open at www.usfsaonline.org on Monday, Aug. 17, 2020. Registration will be a three-step process as outlined below:

Step 1 – All athletes intending to compete must register for the 2021 U.S. Figure Skating Championship Series between Aug. 17 and Sept. 25, 2020.

Step 2 – Championship Series registered participants will then select any competition from the list below between Aug. 17 and Sept. 1, 2020, with acceptance based upon space availability. Please note, due to facility and scheduling limitations, U.S. Figure Skating will enforce a maximum number of entries for each event.

Step 3 – After the close of the first phase of event selection by registered participants, and an assessment of event availability, Championship Series athletes will have the opportunity to register for a second competition (or first if an event was not selected during the Step 2 window) between Sept. 7 and Sept. 25, 2020. Registration during step three will again be based on space availability.

Note: Athletes are strongly encouraged to register during the first phase (Step 2) to ensure that they have the best chance to compete at the location of their choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the health and safety plan for these eight competitions?

U.S. Figure Skating is working with each Local Organizing Club (LOC) and facility partner on the development and implementation of a public health and safety plan in accordance with state and local regulations, including, but not limited to, participant requirements (testing, temperature checks, health questionnaires), building/event flow and emergency action plans. Details for all attendees will be advanced via email and pre-competition Zoom calls.

What is the benefit of holding eight competitions compared to the traditional Challenge and Finals format?

The decision to reimagine the U.S. Qualifying Season for this year only is based on the survey results from athletes, coaches and parents. Shifting events to November and December allows athletes more time to train and properly prepare to compete. Additionally, it was important to recognize that many athletes are not training in their traditional rinks, so these eight competitions are located in strategic locations with an emphasis on providing the option for most athletes to drive to a location that is nearest to them.

Can I truly compete anywhere in the country?

Yes! The goal is to provide athletes with maximum flexibility to compete and qualify for the U.S. Championships and/or the National High Performance Development Camp.

Does this mean Challenges and Finals are cancelled?

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the Championship Series has been created to replace the traditional U.S. qualifying competitions (Challenges and Finals) for the 2020-21 U.S. Figure Skating Qualifying Season to provide the best opportunity for all athletes to train and be ready to compete in November/December.

My rink just recently reopened and I can’t test prior to the registration dates listed. What should I do?

U.S. Figure Skating has approved Technical Notification 250 that allows athletes to register at their current test level or up to two levels higher. Rule 2424 will still apply.

How will athletes advance to the U.S. Championships?

Advancement to the 2021 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships and naming of the National High Performance Development Team will be processed and made available to the public the week of Dec. 7.

U.S. Figure Skating and Learn to Skate USA are joining forces to expand the Axel Club, a free recognition program that celebrates skaters who land the Axel jump - here's the article!

U.S. Figure Skating and Learn to Skate USA announced today a partnership to promote and grow the Axel Club, a joint program that recognizes skaters who land their Axel for the first time.

Learn to Skate USA and U.S. Figure Skating members who land their Axel are encouraged to apply to the Axel Club. Inductees will receive an official Axel Club membership certificate, a recognition gift, listing on the Axel Club Hall of Fame page on Learn to Skate USA and U.S. Figure Skating websites and the opportunity to be featured in Axel Club marketing materials.

“There are a few firsts in life you never forget, and in a skater’s life nothing is more exciting than landing your first Axel,” said Susi Wehrli McLaughlin, the senior director of membership at U.S. Figure Skating. “That’s why we started the Axel Club — to commemorate all skaters’ accomplishment of landing their first Axel, even if it was long ago."

New to the program is the Axel Emeritus Club, an opportunity for skaters who landed their Axel more than a few years ago to join and celebrate their Axel achievement, even years later. To join, skaters must be either an active member of Learn to Skate USA or current full member of U.S. Figure Skating and able to provide a witness to verify the skater landed the Axel.

Congratulations to Joonsoo Kim on being named to the Inaugural Collegiate Ambassador Program!

U.S. Figure Skating’s Collegiate Skating Subcommittee announced the launch of the 2021 Collegiate Ambassador Program. Twenty-two athletes were selected from a highly qualified pool of applicants to be a part of the program to support and promote collegiate skating in the United States.

“We chose a diverse group of athletes from various institutions, skating backgrounds, current skating teams and walks of life that will be able to showcase what it means to be a collegiate skater,” said Scott Brody, Chair, Collegiate Skating Subcommittee.

They should have skated on a collegiate skating team for at least one season, served in a leadership position and demonstrated an interest in participating in collegiate skating outside of an athlete role (i.e., coaching, trial judging, volunteering for team or club).

The ambassadors will be serving as spokespeople for collegiate skating and volunteering as presenters and leaders at various collegiate skating events and contribute ideas and articles for social media, collegiate skating newsletter, SKATING magazine’s collegiate skating column and blog posts.

Congratulations to Samir Mallya on being named an Athlete Alumni Ambassador!

U.S. Figure Skating announced the recipients of the 2020 Athlete Alumni Ambassador (3A) award. The 3A award is a scholarship program that recognizes skaters who have achieved figure skating excellence while actively volunteering.

To earn a 3A award, skaters must have qualified for the 2020 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships, 2020 National High Performance Development Team Camp or the 2020 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships at the novice or junior level. Candidates were asked to submit an application detailing their volunteer work. The Athletes Advisory Committee (AAC) selects one overall winner and one winner from each discipline (ladies, men's, pairs, ice dance and synchronized). The overall winner receives $2,000, while each of the remaining five honorees receive $500, which can be used at the skaters' discretion.

The 2020 3A award recipients are listed below.

Samuel Mindra, Portland ISC (overall) — The Portland, Oregon, native began skating when he was 4 years old. Samuel Mindra began volunteering to teach learn to skate lessons as soon as he was old enough to assist. He also actively volunteers with his club, helping at competitions and working with local media to promote figure skating in his community. As a member of Team USA, Mindra recognizes his responsibility as a role model and hopes to join his club’s junior board and begin coaching the upcoming generation of skaters.

Maryn Pierce, Broadmoor SC (ladies) — The Colorado-based skater is a member of the National Honor Society at her high school and enjoys participating in community service. Recognizing how harsh Colorado winters can be, Maryn Pierce organized a skating event where participants donated coats for a skating lesson with local instructors. The event received more than 150 coats and winter items, which Pierce donated to a local shelter. Next year, she hopes to double the amount of donations.

Samir Mallya, Los Angeles FSC (men's) — Junior-level skater Samir Mallya has been volunteering at his club’s competitions for years and now helps manage and train new volunteers. Mallya enjoys being a role model for younger skaters and students. When he’s not on the ice, he’s teaching fifth graders advanced math and intends to continue running the program while attending UCLA next year to study mechanical engineering. Mallya also had the opportunity to assistant coach the junior team of the Los Angeles Ice Theater. He also hopes to train to become a judge in the future.

Cate Fleming, SC of Boston (pairs) — Pairs skater Cate Fleming enjoys skating with special needs skaters and participating in benefit shows with her partner, Jedidiah Isbell, in the Boston area. Fleming is also very involved in helping skaters stay healthy and injury-free. Fleming and Isbell are the 2020 U.S. junior pairs pewter medalists and placed sixth at the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Cordelia Pride, Philadelphia SC and HS (ice dance) — Cordelia “Cordy” Pride is a four-time U.S. Championships competitor in ice dance. Recognizing the importance of being a role model to younger skaters dreaming of national-level competition, Pride aims to make all skaters feel welcome on and off the ice. She keeps an enthusiastic attitude while volunteering as a junior club supervisor and skating with Basic Skills students. Pride also helps choreograph show programs, teaches learn to skate lessons three days a week and volunteers as a coach for Special Olympics.

Gia Swanson, Glenwood FSC (synchronized) — Teams Elite Junior member Gia Swanson planned a skating event in 2019 titled “Skate for Cystic Fibrosis” to raise money for the CF Foundation. The event featured skaters from all disciplines to bring the community together. Swanson also invited school peers, teachers and local businesses to attend the event and donate gift baskets. The event raised more than $4,000 for the CF Foundation, and Swanson hopes to hold the event again in the future (the 2020 event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

I would be honored to include your favorite recipe in my upcoming skating cookbook, FIGURE SKATERS’ FAVORITES – Volume 2!

Cookbook will come out this fall, prior to USFS 100th Anniversary!

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the USFS Memorial Fund.

1) Email recipe to skaterscookbook@gmail.com. (Legible photo of recipe is fine). You may send more than one.

2) Include a brief bio about your skating career.

3) Feel free to include photo(s) - on or off ice. (Photos won't be in the book but will be on our website)

- The background check is $30.00 (plus $1.00 processing fee). You pay this on the USFS page. If you receive a prompt on the NCSI to pay an additional fee, do not continue. Send a message to USFS or contact Vicki Busch for assistance.

There is also a Parents Safe Sport link for those who want to familiarize themselves with the current Safe Sport rules and requirements (see links below). There are free courses available, and you don’t need to have a membership number to access them.

The Graduating Seniors Program was developed by U.S. Figure Skating to recognize the achievements of

those individuals graduating from high school who have made the commitment to continue their training in

figure skating while pursuing their academic studies.

The purpose of this program is to honor and credit those qualified graduates for their hievements during their

high school years through the presentation of a certificate to the skater during a school function or recognition opportunity.

The Graduating Seniors Program consists of four level designations awarded within the program. Certificates will be awarded to individuals based upon their highest skating achievement (test or completion) during high

school as noted on their application.

PLATINUM LEVEL

International competitor in singles, pairs, ice dancing, synchronized skating. U.S Championships or U.S.

Pairs/Dance Final competitor in singles, pairs, ice dancing at the novice, junior, or senior levels. National High Performance Development Team member at the novice level. U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships competitor at the novice, junior & senior levels.

GOLD LEVEL

U.S. Pairs/Dance Final competitor or U.S. Championships in singles, pairs or ice dancing at the

juvenile or intermediate level. National High Performance Development Team member at the juvenile or intermediate level. Sectional Singles Final competitor at the novice level or above. U.S. Synchronized

Championships competitor at the intermediate level. Gold medalist in free skate, pairs, ice dancing and/or moves in the field.

SILVER LEVEL

Nation's Cup, Nations Cup Ballet on Ice, Interclub Competition, Theatre On Ice competitor, National Solo

Dance Series Final competitor Sectional competitor in pairs, ice dancing, synchronized skating at the intermediate level or above or Regional challenge competitor. Dance tests passed at the silver

through pre-gold levels. Free skate, pairs, moves-in-the-field tests passed at the juvenile

through junior levels.

BRONZE LEVEL

National Showcase competitor, National Theatre On Ice competitor. Dance tests passed at the preliminary through pre-silver levels. Free skate, pairs, moves-in-the-field tests passed at the pre-preliminary through

LAFSC Adults competing at Sectionals and/or the U.S Adult Championships:

A buffet lunch will be served, qualifying competitor jackets will be handed out and we have competition team gifts for all skaters participating in Adult Sectionals and/or Nationals. We are coming together to celebrate our upcoming adult competition season together! #3-peat!

We will also take a team picture. Please bring a black jacket with you to coordinate the picture.

After a flawless short program and respectable freeskate performance which contributed to her 6th place finish at the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Championships in senior ladies, Starr Andrews had to compete again 3 days later to try to earn a spot on the 2020 World Junior Team.

Starr’s excellent performances at the 2020 World Junior Selection Camp in Charlotte, NC, were rewarded with a berth on the U.S. Figure Skating World Junior Team.

This will be Starr’s second trip to Junior Worlds. Congratulations Starr, and good luck in Estonia next month! (from LA Elite Ice)
