Donate To LAFSC

The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club is one of the largest and most prestigious skating clubs in the country.  It has been the home club for many notable skating champions, including Michele Kwan, Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner, Richard Dwyer, Todd Eldredge, and Christopher Bowman, just to name a few.

Our mission is to provide programs to encourage participation and achievement in the sport of figure skating, to conduct figure skating tests as prescribed by US Figure Skating, and to organize and sponsor competitions, exhibitions and clinics.

The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club is a 501(c)(3) organization.  As such, your contribution may be tax deductible.  Thank you for your consideration. We appreciate any contribution that you can make. We currently have the following categories available for donations:

GENERAL DONATION

The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club hosts four competitions per year, critiques, shows, and other events to assist our club members. Further, it provides jackets to its competitive team, maintains its website, and provides training opportunities for its members. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Club relies on donations to provide its members what is needed, and what makes the Club so special. No donation is too small - please consider donating today! Funds will be used as directed by the Board of Directors.

COMPETITOR'S ASSISTANCE

The Los Angeles Figure Skating Club provides financial assistance to its Sectional, National, and International competitors who qualify for those competitions. Training and travel expenses add up, and money donated to the Club may be used to assist our Sectional, National, and/or International competitors, as well as other skaters with a significant need for financial assistance. Funds will be used as directed by the Board of Directors.

MORRY STILLWELL MEMORIAL FUND

This fund is in honor of our dear friend Morry Stillwell, and will be used to help support our figure skaters.

HOSPITALITY FUND

As you may know, all of our competitions are run and officiated by volunteers who spend many hours each day giving their time to help our skaters. They need to be fed. Money donated for this purpose will be used to provide food and beverages to our officials and volunteers at our competitions.

MARGUERITTA AEDO FUND

This fund was established in 1997 to honor the memory of Margueritta Aedo, and was started specifically to help competitive skaters at the Juvenile and Intermediate levels. This fund is administered by the Board of Directors, and provides assistance to younger, competitive skaters who are experiencing financial hardship in paying for their training or equipment expenses.

An outstanding member of LAFSC for most of her life, Margueritta generously gave her time, intelligence, and energy to LAFSC. She contributed her talents to the Club’s publications and served on the Board of Directors as both Vice-President and President. She particularly invested her energy and goodwill in the activities and welfare of the junior members, including by obtaining financial assistance for many of them, as well as visiting them at practice and competitions, and encouraging them in their skating efforts.

Please consider donating to help our younger competitors.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR DONORS!
